Jessica is back on Reality TV

Jessica Simpson is back on the Reality TV circuit with a new show focusing on Beauty and concepts of beauty around the world. The show, set to air on Vh1 in the Fall/Winter lineup, is a reality concept based on female empowerment mixed with beauty trends. Some blogs claim the setup will be a celebrity camping and trekking documentary. Will we're not sure about the exact details, we can tell you it is a go. We will be excited to see Jessica back on the tube.

Audrina Patridge is "Mad" and LC is Jealous!

Audrina will appear on the comedy show, MADTV in October. Audrina posted on her official Blog,

“I can’t wait to show you guys a little bit of my goofy side.”

The goofy Miss Audrina is better known for her dramatic roles on MTV's hit series, The Hills, where she stars alongside Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth, with whom she's reportedly not speaking. After the turn of events this week, we wonder if Audrina's success is making Lauren Conrad insecure after it has been revealed that her failed fashion line will be defunct after this Fall/Winter season. Audrina is also set to appear in the sequel to the action movie, Into The Blue.

Lauren Conrad is having issues only a psychic can understand!

We reported it first: LC's dinner date with co-star Whitney Port did not go well. The lunchdate, which also included shooting scenes for her MTV reality show, The Hills, left Lauren Conrad emotionally battered. Read more HERE. Lauren is having such a hard time dealing with all the changes in her life, she consulted a Psychic on Thursday September 4th. Close friend and confidante Whitney is rumored to be getting her own show about life in New York, and it seems the show is already Seguewaying into that direction. Meanwhile, rumors are flying that Lauren and Heidi have indeed buried the hatchet for the final season of the hit show, which draws in a large audience every week and is currently MTV's most popular program. Lauren seems to be caving from the pressure. Lauren was seen on Thursday at a Psychic's office in Los Angeles with a sign that read, "Maria Milagrosa Curandera Espiritual”. Lauren was also wearing a Kaballah string which we assume means she's making a desperate attempt to connect with some higher power. We only hope the visit can help Lauren resolve her apparent control issues.

Gemma makes a splash down under!

Supermodel Gemma Ward, a native of Australia, made a big splash this past year. The model turned actress-turned model again, received the Actress of the Year Award at the 63rd Australian International Movie Convention's box office achievement awards on the Gold Coast last night. Gemma, whose name you may not know but whose iconic lolita-esque looks have stirred controversy, may be more recently seen in mainstream print ads such as the one below for Dolce and Gabbana.

Russian Lesbians take on Marc Jacobs High Fashion

Remember that band from a few years back composed of two Russianish girls who made out and sang erotic songs for each other on stage while being doused in water? Yeah we didn't think so. They're called T.a.T.u., and the girl on girl duo who haven't had a hit in probably six years Stateside, have been named the new faces of the Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign. We're a little bit confused by this, but we're pretty sure it has something to do with Marc's recent marriage to his boyfriend. It will be interesting to see the results, because Marc always makes his ads look genius!

Seen and Unheard: Lauren and Whitney do Lunch

Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port are real life friends. The Hills stars lunched on Saturday at Lemonade in LA while filming new footage for the show. Word on the street is that this is the last season of the show, and that Lauren is done with reality tv for a while. Think MTV would leave us without our fix? No way! That's why, bless their hearts, they're trying to get Whitney Port to sign on for a spinoff reality show about her big move to NYC's fashion and social scene. Only time will tell, but insiders swear a segueway into the new spinoff will be offered before we reach mid-season. Lauren will also be doing 'regular' TV work, guesting on some shows like Greek, as reported by the Gossip Girls at their Blog.

The Hill's have had some major drama going on lately, bless their hearts, with L.C. and Heidi Montag continuing the feud that Heidi started after her recent engagement to Spencer Pratt. Spencer and Heidi have both been manipulating the media to get publicity lately, appearing in engagement stories, boob jobs, feud drama, photo-ops, and interviews with no-name tabloids all just to get more fame than Hill's main star, Lauren Conrad. Not that Lauren has been exempt from media scrutiny. The former Vogue Intern was in the middle of mess when a sextape Perez Hilton labeled 'very vanilla,' was leaked out this spring. The tape showed intimate moments between Lauren and former boyfriend and also former Hill's star, Jason Wahler. Jason has been in prision for attacking a police officer in West Hollywood and driving under the influence. While Heidi and Spencer will receive no blatant airtime on this site, Lauren remains one of our favorite girls, a positive role model in the midst of a storm. Rumors are now circulating that Lauren and Jason may be reunited in either a trial relationship or a desperate publicity stunt by MTV producers to keep their star of the show in the spotlight as the 'it' girl. It remains to be seen, but the new season of the Hills continues this Fall on MTV. It is one of MTV's most acclaimed reality series, spawning trends among young americans and launching it's star's careers.

Kate Moss gets fired

Kate Moss was fired by Agent Provocateur, a British based lingerie label that is headed up by Vivienne Westwood's son, Joseph Corre. Moss was originally let go back during Mossgate in 2005, with AP being one of the first labels to fire her then, and rehire her after she cleaned up. According to sources, Kate no longer has youth appeal and can't help market brands to young people. For the companies' new ads, models as much as ten years younger than Kate will be appearing. Not only is this gonna affect her confidence as a top model, but it's gonna hurt her moneyhole. She's gonna be losing almost a million dollars in revenue from the split. However, a rep for the label says that Kate is still considered "Part of the family."

Drew Barrymore + Zach Braff = Gucci Ads?

Drew Barrymore is adding a whole lot to her ever-expanding plate. She's already a producer, buisness-woman, actress, spokesperson, and now she's adding Gucci to her bag of companies she reps for. Gucci's creative director said this,

"Drew brought wonderful energy and excitement to this project. She is such a strong and confident woman, but her humor and sensitivity made her completely disarming."

Gucci has chosen Barrymore to represent the company in their first-ever celebrity-driven ads. Barrymore has previously shot scenes for Missoni, and Lancome. Also on Barrymore's plate is budding romance with Zach Braff from NBC's Scrubs. Spotted in various clubs and out for strolls in New York, they just may be the it couple of summer. Can you imagine the lips on the kid they could produce?

Kimora get's a new show

Kimora Lee Simmons is taking another stab at reality television with the announcement earlier this month about her new TV series set to air on the Style Network this fall, called 'Life in the Fab Lane', a tongue in cheek look behind the scenes at Simmons' career and homelife. CharmFlakes is excited about the new show, and we share in Kimora's continued sucess as a multi-ethnic american continuing to push the boundaries of gender, race and class. Kimora is a true pioneer, and we'll all be tuned in on August 5 at 8 p.m. on Style.

More details of "The Most Glamorous Fashion Show Ever..."

We reported earlier in the day that Sarah Jessica Parker had called the Valentino 45th anniversary Celebration ''The Most Glamorous Fashion Show ever." While here at CharmFlakes, we maintain that every fashion show is a glamorous affair, we couldn't help but be bowled over by the emerging details from Rome of the glorious event. Friday Night brought together the most famous of the famed for a dinner in honor of Valentino, 300 people dining alfresco. The site was the ruins of Venus' Temple, in Old Rome, which had been reconstructed carefully to embody old Roman Times by renowned set designer, Dante Ferretti. He carefully added lighting rivaling that of the Parthenon in Athens, and created a mood that was La Dolce Vita to say the least.

We love the eloquent description in the London Times, which reads,

As an obligingly picturesque lemon-slice moon rose across the inky sky, the columns gave off a ghostly glow. Italian opera struck up and from nowhere classical ballerinas suspended from invisible wires began to pirouette above the Roman traffic against the floodlit backdrop of the Coliseum. ...No wonder that there is now talk of the city keeping the floodlit columns as a permanent attraction.

The evening will be a high-water mark for all fashionistas and as an Italian-American, I must say I felt a surge of Pride in my Eternal City. It was a celebration befitting a king, and Valentino is the King of Glamorous Fashion.

Keep that foundation on your face!

And of course, we all see those articles of InStyle with glamorous parties in the Hamptons where everyones in All-white, and theres no makeup smudges to be found. And then, we've all emulated those same photographs for our next party and thankfully, the candlelight hid the disaster from most of our friends. And then, painfully, we've all been there when you get in your car and look in the mirror to find your foundation ran on you, revealed your true smudgy appearance and ruined your latest purchase from White House/Black Market.

After it all is over with, you swear off makeup for the rest of the summer, but slap it right back on with your now bleached white dress for the trip to Harris Teeter. So how do you keep it all together like a true southern belle? Listen closely. And hide your pc moniter from those conniving broads behind you, lest they learn the secret to flawless summer skin.

1. First you're gonna need a good base. It's summer, so moisture in the humidity isn't usually a problem. Start with a Primer, (We like PhotoFinish Bronzing Foundation Primer from Smashbox.)
2. Apply your usual foundation in one shade darker than your skin tone. (We'll explain why later.) Use a damp makeup sponge to help mattify the skin and allow for even coverage, especially if you use the different shade of foundation for a base.
3. After step 2, you'll notice you probably have some uneven lines that are going to end up as a 'line of demarcation' if you don't eliminate them. Now you'll need to even them with the freshly rinsed sponge free of foundation. Even them by blending downwards toward the neck.
4. Next you'll need to apply some moisturizer to the dried skin with the makeup sponge. Don't rub or blend. You'll only dab the skin on your cheeks, browbone, nose and chin, just where you want a lil glimmer of light.
5. Next lightly dust a your usual skintone colored loose powder over the skin, buffing any imperfections and capillaries around the nose, and paying closest attention to your oilest problem zones, (Usually where your makeup runs fastest, or where your most prone to breakouts). On these problem areas, apply another light dusting of the powder.
6. To finish it off, apply bronzer powder over the skin starting from the outside in. It's a little trick I picked up from a friend, Chris Lanston. You're gonna wanna apply a lil extra where the sun hits most. the cheekbones. The brow, forehead, and the chin. Be sure and do your neck too, you don't wanna look like J.Lo on crack.
7. The finished product will be a matte face that won't require touchups all through the night. Finish with all your other makeup. This is especially a great canvas for dramatic eye shadow, making a smooth place to play with color. You may want to buy some blotting sheets and carry them in your bag for that 1 break of the night in the powder room.

Now, when you meet your romeo at the next soirree or barbeque, your heart will melt long before your face does. Happy Heat Wave!
